The acronym "ISO 14001" denotes the principal international standard for the environmental management of organisations.
The ISO 14001 certification is not mandatory; it is undertaken voluntarily by firms that decide to adopt, implement and maintain an environmental management system. For Obiettivo Lavoro, the Environmental Sustainability project is a cornerstone of the process for the general improvement of the company's activities and performance. Our Environmental Policy is aligned with the general framework of the Kyoto Protocol objectives, i.e. to reduce the impact of all human activities on the environment and on human health, to minimise waste and damage to natural resources such as water, air and soil. Obiettivo Lavoro has adopted the Kyoto objectives, and through it Environmental Policy intends to:
- Reduce and improve the impact of the company's activities on the environment.
- Reduce the company's running costs through the improvement of environmental impacts.
- Deliver quantifiable and tangible benefits to the community and to its employees.
- Raise environmental awareness from a mere rhetorical or image-building device to a concrete, measurable and documented practice.
- Introduce environmental protection into the company's practices, as a fundamental element governing the behaviour of all personnel.
